Do you know what you are feeding your dog? Are you aware that today’s commercial dog food has very low nutritional value to it? You may be thinking that you are supplying the pet you love with the best in commercial dog food but I have a surprise for you. You may be slowly killing your dog!

I bet you think I may be acting a tad bit dramatic right? After all you dog seems to be acting normal in every way, am I right? Well, think of it this way, if YOU were fed an unhealthy diet from this point in time, how long would it take for you to show any adverse reactions? Eventually though, you would start feeling sluggish and get sick more frequently. A dogs natural life-span use to be in the mid 20′s on average but now, their average life-span is only about 11 years. These are not numbers I am just pulling out of a hat. Many professionals in the dog fields attribute this to the fact that dogs have been fed commercially processed foods from birth, all the while not knowing exactly what is in it!

Think about this fact. Before we domesticated the dog from the wild, their natural diet was RAW food that they hunted themselves. Then when dogs were first brought to the home, they were still fed food (scraps from the dinner table) that was edible by humans so their diet was still fairly good for them. As a result, their life-spans didn’t alter too much because of their new diet.

Then someone thought it would be a good idea to process foods that we humans couldn’t eat and if cooked long enough and hot enough, would be edible by animals. Well, when you cook the heck out of ANYTHING at extremely high temperatures for a long period of time, you cook all the natural nutrition out of it. Leaving it nothing but something to fill the stomach.

You wouldn’t feed yourself or your family food like this so why are you feeding your dog this garbage? Over a long period of time, you are causing harm for your family pet. Why not cook special meals for your dog ahead of time that you can store in your fridge for short periods of time (to ensure freshness)?

By doing so, you would be ensuring that your family pet is getting a diet that will keep him/her healthy and get the benefit of extending its life!
